CHECK
Check was a project whereby myself and five of my peers designed and machined a chessboard from scratch. The pieces are comprised of both 6061 Aluminum with a brass base, the board of sandblasted tempered glass and the base of 6061 Aluminum with brass fasteners.
The base was manufactured in four quadrants using a CNC mill. Each piece was designed to require one flip in order to complete a given section. All the chess pieces were cut using a CNC lathe and then sanded and polished using a manual lathe.
